The Role

Sanitarium has a rare opportunity arise for an experienced and capable Technical Manager to join our biggest Manufacturing Branch across our network; our Berkeley Vale Factory. The branch has three factories under one roof; Beverages, Cereals and Spreads. The role will report into the Manufacturing Manager Berkeley Vale and is responsible for leading our technical team and providing a high level of technical and quality advice and support to the branch.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide a high level of technical and quality support to the Branch
  • Coaching and guidance to others (at all levels) assist in the achievement of site goals
  • Technically assist site management team to deliver annual site targets on food safety
  • Ensure the certification, maintenance and compliance of the complex site quality system.
  • Ensure site compliance to HACCP and BRC standards
  • Maintain consistent and effective application of company policies and procedures and ensure appropriate action when problems arise

The Person

The successful applicant will have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in science however post graduate scientist qualifications preferred
  • Minimum 5 years broad experience in food manufacturing
  • Strong science and statistics background
  • Experience in food microbiology highly regarded
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food standards, regulations, chemical handling and principles of good manufacturing practices
  • Experience in quality systems implementation and their  applications
  • Solid experience delivering objectives through others within financial constraints
  • High level of resilience and ability to manage competing priorities
  • A strategic focus and drive to deliver business outcomes
  • Proven delivery of  HACCP and BRC standards desirable
  • Must be able to apply the scientific method to review recipes and processing parameters
