What is the role?

We have been engaged by Aspen Medical to assist with the rollout of the PFIZER COVID-19 Vaccination program, and as a result, we are now looking for Division 1 Registered Nurses who are interested in assisting with the rollout of the PFIZER COVID-19 Vaccine. You will play a key role within the vaccination team, in helping to set them up for success.

We are looking for passionate health care professionals, dedicated to delivering high quality nursing services, whilst providing the highest level of care.

Our teams are based out of Hubs (locations of the Hubs are subject to change) throughout Metropolitan QLD as the base logistic point.  Our teams then move to metropolitan locations, whereby we are presently vaccinating the Disability Sector.  This means, you may attend a Community Home or Aged Care Facility as a smaller team, ot attend a Community Hall as a larger team. Dependent on the requirements of our clients; we strive to meet them. 

We are also looking for Registered Nurses who are passionate and eager to assist our teams that work within our Regional locations.  With Regional locations, there will be the requirement to travel overnight (accommodation will be provided) and up to 5 days (a week) at any time. But; think of all of the lovely locations you will see, and it is all part of your work!

If you are a current Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA, and you are working towards the completion of your Nurse Immuniser Education Program (IPN), we would also like to hear from you.  We are also looking for Registered Nurses who are interested in being a part of our COVID-19 program (you will not be able to perform vaccinations though without IPN accreditation). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Nurse Immunisers with the setup for the administration of vaccines, in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines
  • Communicating with patients and providing them with the necessary information, support and reassurance they require
  • Practicing health and safety procedures
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and other record keeping platforms

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current CPR/BLS qualifications (less than 12 months old)
  • Current Anaphylaxis training certificate or the willingness to obtain
  • Evidence of the completion of the ASPEN COVID-19 Modules (1-6); Pfizer Module; AstraZeneca Module and the Disability Awareness modules  
  • Current drivers licence and reliable motor vehicle
  • Current National Police/Criminal Record check (within the last 12 months)
  • Evidence of current Influenza Vaccination Record (for 2021) - this is a MUST
  • Evidence of current COVID-19 Vaccination Record 

You will also need to have:

  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to deal with medical emergencies
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Polite/friendly nature
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum of two years full-time relevant clinical experience
  • Ability to travel throughout QLD, with the willingness to stay overnight in accommodation provided by Vitality Works

Preferable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in workplace vaccination setting

You will be asked to verify the following:

  • Your current AHPRA Registration
  • If you are in the process of studying/completing the Authorised Immuniser Course, please advise of your expected date of completion
  • Current unrestricted drivers licence
  • Current National Police/Criminal Record check (within the last 12 months)
  • Current Influenza Vaccination Record (for 2021)
  • Current COVID-19 Vaccination Record
  • Your willingness to travel regionally/overnight/distance (accommodation is provided)
