If have a background in FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) manufacturing or want to learn about FMCG manufacturing, then this role may be right for you. We are looking for qualified mechanical fitters who have the tenacity and eagerness to learn and grow a career with us at Sanitarium.

Here, with Sanitarium we can teach you specific technical knowledge with our machinery. We are looking for the right culture fit, a bright attitude and the willingness to learn within a team environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager – you will be instrumental in ensuring continuous operation, reliability and best practice maintenance services.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate proven knowledge, skills and experience with enthusiasm and attention to detail. They will be an effective communicator in a team environment and will be willing to rise to the challenge in this pivotal role to make a positive impact in their work environment.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant Qualification in: Fitter Trade Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Able to work on preventive maintenance schedules, attend breakdowns, minimising downtime and implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends
  • Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and skills to maintain and repair
  • Fault-finding and installation skills
  • Ability to problem solve for root cause resolution
  • Strong customer focus and team orientation
  • Capability of physical activity including crawling into confined spaces or climbing at heights
  • Be able to work unsupervised in a multi-task environment to achieve goals

Advantageous but not essential:

  • Knowledge in pneumatic control and automated machinery.
  • Have the ability to read and understand engineering and pneumatic drawings
  • Boiler Operating qualifications or willing to attain
  • Forklift licence

As part of the plant site support an annual 2 week shutdown period, which will include over time and weekend work will be required.

Our shutdown periods are typically during August where our business requires maintenance support during this time.
