About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an accounting superstar with commercial expertise, exceptional customer focus and great leadership skills. This is a crucial role where you where you can really add value to the business.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Operations & Logistics in Australia, you will provide management in our NZ Manufacturing and Distribution sites with the financial support they require to make informed business decisions and effectively manage their areas.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing commercial leadership and guidance while working alongside management teams.
Building commercial acumen with the site teams
Leading, coaching and developing one direct report
Preparation of financial budgets and forecasts to agreed timelines
Delivery of financial performance monitoring and variance reporting
Preparation of business cases; including post implementation appraisals
Preparation of product costings for new products and inventory valuation
Involvement in projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Naturally, you will have a customer focused attitude and be a true team player. Your “can do” attitude, outstanding communication skills and ability to remain well organized will see you excel in this role.
You’ll need to be able to build effective relationships within the wider team and across the business to have the biggest success in this role. You won’t be afraid to get out on the factory floor to study the processes and people to gain deeper understanding of the cost drivers and opportunities. In addition, you will have a passion for developing and coaching others in a constructive and supportive way and enjoy being a leader to one direct report.
A tertiary qualification in business/commerce with a major in accounting is required, as is at least 5 years of commercial experience. You will also hold, or be studying towards, a CPA, CA or equivalent professional status.
Experience within a manufacturing and/or FMCG environment, and a working knowledge of standard costing and systems such as Adaptive Insights and SAP would be advantageous.
