Food Technologist - one year fixed term role

About the Role

Sanitarium is seeking a creative and technically sound Food Technologist to join our experienced and supportive New Product Development Team. Our Royal Oak site is the Centre of Excellence for Muesli, Light ’n’ Tasty and Cluster Crisp brands, with products developed for both local and export markets. There is a very busy product development programme in place and you will be working on high profile projects in support of the company's ongoing strategy, working closely with the Senior Food Technologist.

As an integral part of our team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of product development projects; including the development of innovative new products, product renovation and process improvements.
  • Leading product trials and compiling production reports.
  • Completing raw material reviews, specification completion and risk assessments.
  • Delivery of procurement driven, ingredient based and cost reduction projects.
  • Support with various projects and trials as required within the team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a creative problem solver, able to hit the ground running, and demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or Technology
  • 3-4 years involvement in development of new concepts and products
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to take responsibility and work both autonomously and in a team

A background in food manufacturing would be advantageous.
