Play an instrumental role in ensuring product safety and quality at our factory that creates one of Australia's favourite and iconic breakfast cereals - Weet-Bix.

If you have a Technical background in FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) food manufacturing, then this role may be right for you.

Reporting to the site Technical Manager, we are looking for a qualified Food Process Technologist to work effectively in a small Technical team environment who has the right culture fit, a bright attitude, reliable, strong technical capabilities and who is passionate about ensuring product safety and quality.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have relevant tertiary qualifications in Food Technology or a related science area at a minimum of Bachelor level and an understanding of food processing, quality, safety, and regulation are expected.
  • Minimum 2-3+ years’ experience in food manufacturing (preferred)
  • Strong and Effective communication and interpersonal skills – liaising with production operators and management in both written and verbal styles
  • Ability to develop operational procedures, support internal audit program and deliver face to face training
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to WHS, Food Safety and Quality in the workplace
  • Provide expertise, guidance, and support to ensure compliance with the company’s food safety, legal and quality standards – along with compliance to any customer standards to which the company subscribes.
  • Participate in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Production Department to ensure that products manufactured meet defined specifications. 
  • Gather information and generate reports as required
  • Be able to work unsupervised to achieve goals
  • Have high level of attention to detail
  • Be able to demonstrate computer, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • Have proven fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Occasionally required to work out of normal hours
