Category Development Analyst (Executive)

Sanitarium is looking for a Category Development Analyst to join its’ Category team at Berkeley Vale.

Reporting to the Category Development Manager, you will be responsible for executing the ranging and layout strategy for our customers.  Using “Path to Purchase” levers and appropriate ranging, you will turn vision into reality for driving category growth and revenue & profit opportunities for both Sanitarium and its’ customers. You will support the Category Development Manager with ongoing analysis to provide the business visibility of individual category performance, Sanitarium’s performance in the market and performance of competitor ranges. You will complete, in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders, & using various data sources, comprehensive analysis of shopper trends, range performance & retailer layout effectiveness. Using your detailed analytical skills, you provide meaningful recommendations to the business regarding product location & flow, ranging and distribution by retailer and channel. You will provide support to both our Grocery & Convenience channel in similar outcomes.

At a detailed level, the key accountabilities around the role include the following:

  • Range Review process roadmap (or blueprint) development
  • POG recommendations
  • Planning of internal meetings & manage the category review process
  • Analysis and presentation of data regarding in-store recommendations and profitability potential regarding range, distribution and space changes
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external customer stakeholders
  • Develop layout strategy rational and planogram designs as to how best to present in-store

You should have the following qualifications to meet the requirements of the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Commerce or Business
  • 5+ years’ experience in Sales, Category or Marketing
  • Have strong EXCEL (advanced level) and Powerpoint skills
  • Ideally be competent in using analytical software
